The Gal Tibor Winery, one of the leading wineries in the Eger region, began its operation in 1993. Its main objective was to give a new life to the wine culture and the traditions incorporating the most modern of viticultural technologies. Gal Tibor was the first who realised the importance of terroir based viticulture and based on his experiences chose the best rootstocks and clones for this territory. Our aim is to bring back the good reputation of the already protected Egri Bikaver ( Bull’s Blood of Eger ) the traditional Hungarian varieties as well as international varieties of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Viognier and Syrah. Within the 53 hectares of brilliant slopes located in the Eger Wine Region we observe yield regulation and control our own vineyards to ensure excellent grape quality for our wines. Our traditional wines characterized by their own style, are aged in new oak barrels from 12 – 18 months in our 1 km long Labirintos wine cellar, which offers a perfect cellaring environment due to the natural rhyolite tufa.
Our winery produces excellent price quality valued wines. These wines can be enjoyed by wine enthusiasts ( up to 90 persons ) in our cellars where we know they shall depart with a memorable experience.
