Egerszalók
The first certified mentioning of the settlement is from 1248. Its medieval temple appears in documents first in 1470 – however, in 1586, it had become abandoned. A new church was built instead built in 1738, which stands in the village today, is. Thanks to the brook, the village has an artificial reservoir of 130 hectares, which makes Egerszalók a beloved paradise of fishing and aquatic sports of the region. The natural givens are the main attraction of the village. Its real place of interest is the thermal spring – curative for rheumatic pains, broken bones and arthritis - rises from the deep in the southern part of the village. A 120 square meter limestone deposit hill was created by the hot spring, flows down on the hillside, presents a wonderful view surrounded by pine trees. The already classified as curative water thermal spring can be enjoyed during the whole year. The tourism of the village has been improving continuously by this given. Egerszalók is part of the historical Eger Wine Region. Blue grapes are planted and harvested here on 600 hectares give the base wines of the geographically protected Egri Bikavér. However, other grape varieties were also planted in this area.
