Andornaktálya

This village is more or less integral to Eger town. Andornaktálya came into existence from the joining of two villages, Andor and Kistálya, in 1939. It is easy to reach by both vehicular and railway transport. The long main street of the village joins together once separated two villages. These settlements have been inhabited already in the early times of Hungary, however they were destroyed by the Turks and during the period of Hungarian insurrection at the turn of the 17th and 18th Centuries. They became populated again in the middle of the 18th Century. In 1723 a Roman-Catholic Church was built in Kistálya, on its place a new Church was built later in late baroque style.

Another monument, the classicist Mocsáry Castle was built between 1836-1938, can be found on the main street now. The relief on its facade was designed and created by Marco Casagrande, a Venetian sculptor.

The great advantages makes this village attractive are: closeness of Eger town, vehicular potentials and the rural calmness.
