Aldebrő
It is easy to reach Aldebrő village from the direction of Eger or other routes. We may get there from Kerecsend crossing Kápolna or from the other direction from Verpelét crossing Feldebrő. You can also choose travel by train here on the line between Kisújszállás and Bátonyterenye.
Tombs of Copper Age, findings of Bronze Age, arrowheads from the time of our ancestors’ settlement in Hungary were found At the edge of the village. During the 18th century a continuous growth of the village was realised but it burnt down in 1827. The founder of the village built a Temple for the citizens after, which was consecrated by Károly Eszterházy in 1762. . It can be found in the centre of the village. This place is called “the village of statutes” by the locals as several statues and memorials can be seen on its streets The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk is in front of one house in Vörösmarty street, close to the Tarna bridge. On of he most beautiful Maria statue is located in front of Árpád Street 9., but you may meet other Maria statues in the forest nearby. Playgrounds, intimate rests and paths can be found in the village. The best season to visit Alderbő is either Autumn during the harvest, or during Whitsun when the village celebrates its dedication festival. Being a winegrowing region, wine competition is a real interest, which is organised in February every year.
