Tófalu
You may travel to Tófalu, for example, from the south – on the Road 3 through Kápolna – or from the north – through Verpelét, Feldebrő and Aldebrő. The advantage of the village is its geographical location; it is situated at the meeting point of The Hungarian Great Plain and the Northern Middle Mountain Ranges.
Once, Tófalu, together with Felderbő and Alderbő, was the property of the Grassalkovich family. It had owned by many famous families during centuries: Kristóf Ungrád (captain of the Eger Castle), Anna Losonczy and Ferencz Rákóczi. In case we only have time to travel through Tófalu, you may notice that it is a wayside village and nearly integrated to Aldebrő.
If we stop in the village, it is worth to take a walk and visit the Church situated in an intimate environment. The Church was built in 1950 on the place of the previous one, which was blown up in the 2nd World War. Its chapel having a towel made of wood stands in the garden of the village’s cemetery.
